Deles Private Island
Hop on the plane and jet off to the warm islands of Deles Private Island. Enjoy the seascapes and a laid-back island lifestyle that the island has to offer. We arrive Estancia early in the morning and head to Everdels Resorts right next to an old barge. At the resort we arrange our island hopping, overnight stay and dinner at Deles Private Island. In less than an hour we were transported by speed boat from Everdels Resort to the island which took us about 20 minutes. While waiting for our "banka" outrigger boat to take us island hopping in Gigantes, we got our stuff situated. It took us two exciting hours to get to Gigantes group of islands, the wind condition was a challenge. I was confident our skipper knew what he was doing, he slowed down and held the boat at a 45° angle riding up and over the swells. The panoramic view of the first island we had our eyes on was all worth it. It was beautiful. Such a hectic day visiting four islands, nothing can match these experience. We didn't want to get caught in the dark on a windy, steep breaking seas, so we started heading back at around four pm.
At the island, as we settled in for dinner we were catered with bountiful fresh seafood. We stuffed ourselves until we felt so full and could hardly get up. As the wind grew stronger we had to bring down one side of the cover in the shack we were staying. My cousin Roly and Lyndon brother of Roger who permanently stays at the island started chatting over a glass of Emperador, a favorite Filipino drink. The rest of us started finding our warm cozy spot, the ladies stayed inside the tent but I stayed at the hammock. I was up and about while the men continued chatting and from a distance you can see fishermen with their "banka" and their light, fishing. Lyndon says it's easier to fish at night while they are sleeping, just like us they too are active during the day and asleep at night. We Woke up to the sound of the waves lapping ashore. It just felt so serene watching the sunrise. We had the whole island to ourselves. It was low tide which gave us a totally different experience, the tropical critters was plenteous, we found octopus, snails as big as our fist, green sea grapes and sea urchins. Have you tasted sea urchins? It's roe is so tasty, I have no words to describe it. Lyndon is taking care of two giant clams, first time we saw such clams, we didn't even see it on our first visit since the tide wasn't as low as our second. Snorkeling and Diving possibilities are endless in this unspoiled shores. .
Both Resorts are owned and operated by Roger and Evelyn Deles.
